From the rough and tumble neighborhood of Ville Emard comes Montreal’s latest rock sensation, the melodic alternative rock band USE INSTEAD. Their 1st self-titled full length CD was produced by USE guitarist Myke Haze and SLAVES ON DOPE guitarist Kevin Jardine at Kev’s Uplift Studio. Add to mix, the hard edge rhythm guitar of Maxx Sparx and the result is a riff heavy new grunge sound rivaling our fav bands from the golden age of Seattle. USE INSTEAD are fronted by the wild and charismatic singer Simon Field whose stage antics keep the band’s fans mesmerized and coming back for more. Rounding out the line-up, the power drumming of Fern Rosi and the relentless bass of Mizzy Diamon’.
COMPLICATED is the 1st Single from Use Instead and will be released in March 2011. Keep your ears peeled to your local alternative radio stations and look for Use Instead to be performing in Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA this spring.
In keeping with YUL Records dedication to the multi-lingual and the multi-cultural nature of Montreal, the band has been encouraged to record their 1st single in French as well… COMPLICATION en Français!
The two Videos were shot IN HOUSE by Yul Records at Uplift Studio where the album was recorded and in the USE INSTEAD rehearsal space in Ville Emard.
